Moving into a new home often proves stressful—there are plenty of responsibilities you'll need to care of during the process. Whether you currently call a New Age Real Estate property home or you're getting ready to move into one, these checklists should help answer questions for you. Move-in Checklist

Let us be the first to welcome you to your new home. Before you take possession of the keys, you'll want to take the following important tips into consideration:

First Month's Rent & Security Deposit

Both your first month's rent and your security deposit must be paid at the time of the lease signing. Please confirm the amount with our team in advance.

Move-in Date & Inspection

We will schedule your move-in date and inspection at your lease signing. You'll also have the opportunity to get answers for any questions you have about the property.

Utilities

As a New Age tenant, you'll need to place all utility accounts in your name. Please take care of this at least three days before moving into the property to avoid outages and fees.

Move-out Checklist

As you prepare to move out of your New Age Real Estate home, you'll need to take care of the following issues.

Notice of Intent to Vacate

Our offices need to receive written notification of your intent to vacate your home. Please refer to your lease to determine the official end of your lease or call our offices for assistance.

Property Condition

Before vacating your property, you'll need to carefully clean and repair your home.

  • Rental Cleaning:  First, remove all of your belongings from the property and dispose of all garbage properly. All floors in your home should be swept, vacuumed, or mopped. In the kitchen and bathroom, pay close attention to hard surfaces and sanitize appliances.
  • Landscaping & Outdoor Areas: Your outdoor space should be taken care of before handing over the keys. Mow the lawn, replace burnt bulbs, and weed the flowerbeds if necessary.
  • Repairs: Patch all screw and nail holes left in your walls, replace lightbulbs, and repaint if necessary. If major damage has occurred, please speak to a property manager for direction.

Security Deposit

Your security deposit serves as a guarantee in the event that any damage occurs during your stay. We will conduct a final inspection after you leave and look for any damage that needs to be repaired. If necessary, we will schedule visits from contractors and deduct the expenses from your deposit.

Remember, your deposit cannot serve as your final month's rent payment.
